High voltage on the road - testdrive of new full electric EURABUS in Bremen
July 22, 2014
Today, the Bremen transport operator, the Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG), presented a new, full battery electric 12 metre bus for a test drive. The bus will operate for three months on an existing bus line, through which the BSAG will learn about the advantages and disadvantages the particular model exhibits.
The 12 m "EURABUS 2.0" will be used for three month on a regular stretch and will replace a Diesel bus for that period. The EURABUS uses a lithium phosphate battery underneath the floor which enables the bus a range of up to 300 kilometres.
The real test driving will start early in August and an 18 m EURABUS will be tested in Autumn 2014.
